Top Hats / Gear Linkage bushes

OK so I just bought a couple of Top Hats for my GTA gear lever.. 6th gear is like selecting a bank vault..

Erm.. I can't seem to find any reference to them in eLearn.. no doubt there is a procedure in there somewhere... can anyone shed some light on the how and where for these things?

It's going to be at the linkage ends - which end though? Gear stick or gear box?

Given you have to buy two top hats, maybe it's one at each end? I have no idea..

help!?

If I have time, I'll check in the eLearn workshop manual, which will be easier to digest for the GT than 156GTA, but should be the same.

Have you contacted Autolusso for advice?

I've looked in the GTA eLearn and couldn't find anything at all... Hopefully the GT one will be better.. thanks Shiny.

Hi guys, last year i had gear selection symptoms on my gtv that sound similar.
The rotating barrel that has a large nut on the drivers end and also has a circlip on the passenger side tends to migrate right when doing aggressive gear changes and makes 3rd, 4th and in m,y case 5th hard or impossible to find.
I fixed it by replacing the circlip with a hairpin style clip from the hard ware which has held strong even with lively gear changing. Just push the barel far left then replace clip.

btw here is a link to what i did last year for my gear linkage bush. i didnt know that you could get the top hats by them self at the time but so i improvised but maybe my comment in this thread will help for you.??
